The Nishikawa Family of Dixon was one of many second-generation Japanese- American farmers that operated in Dixon after World War II. Nishikawa Farms, Inc. became one of the largest tomato growers for the Dixon Cannery during the 1980's. Kurakichi Nishikawa first immigrated to the United States in 1919, but it was his sons, Hiroshi and Yutaka that moved to Dixon and bought their first property off Vaughn Road in 1955. Nine children grew up in Dixon from 1957 to 1986. Nishikawa Farms retired from farming, in 1991, ending their stay in Dixon.
